About thirty years after Jesus was crucified, a little Jewish tentmaker wrote a letter to a group of Christians in one of Turkey's biggest cities. "Now that we're in Christ", he explained, "we have a whole load of new blessings, privileges, responsibilities and identities. Let me tell you about them."

That letter, which we now call Ephesians, has been argued by many to be the greatest letter ever written, and certainly one of the most influential. It blends mystery with clarity, encouragement with challenge, theology with practice and simplicity with depth. It summarises the gospel and its implications better than almost any other document, and it stirs the heart as well as informing the mind.

So, from now until Christmas 2011, we're going to be studying it together on Sundays at Kings. We hope to see you soon!
